Health and Safety

One of the top management priorities across our business is that of improving our safety performance.  We have introduced additional programmes to improve our safety performance and are reviewing and monitoring our performance more closely.

Our goal is to embed a zero accident culture.  In 2009 we updated our Environment Health and Safety Standards and Policy and the accompanying management processes and systems.  Technical training is pivotal in embedding these systems.  Senior supervisors and management have attended a course to ensure they understand their accountabilities and responsibilities in this area.

We have found that cultural and behavioural change programmes which are supported by training are key to making significant and long lasting changes in attitude to safety at work.

Environmental Health & Safety

At the FridgeFactory we believe responsible environmental health and safety (EHS) management is an integral party of our achieving our goal to grow the value of our refrigeration manufacturing business.  We aim to ensure that the course of our business activities minimises our impact on our environment; look after the health and safety interest of our employees; and look for ways in which we can improve the local environment in the communities in which we operate.

We believe that this approach will generate and sustain significant environmental, social and financial benefits, thereby contributing to our objective of long term sustainability.

  • We conduct our business in compliance with environmental, health and safety laws and regularly assess our operations compliance against these requirements.

  • Maintain and continually improve systems to manage our EHS responsibilities, establishing and ensuring employee accountability at all levels of our organisation.

  • Set clear targets for continual EHS improvement and monitoring thereof to ensure that these targets are met.

  • Minimise our impact on the environment by preventing pollution.

  • Train and motivate our employees to understand their EHS responsibilities and to actively participate in our EHS programmes.

  • Work with our supply chain and business partners to improve our collective performance and reduce the impacts of transportation.

  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for all our employees and visitors to our site.

  • Review and update our EHS policy regularly.
